“I stupidly turned down Usopp three days ago, not fucking yesterday!” Sanji screams.-
Again and again, Sanji is forced to relive the day after he rejected Usopp.

Their kiss on the battlefield had said all the shit they’d been too proud - or chicken - to admit out loud up until then; Catching sight of Cavendish stooped in that bramble of bodies, all beat up and bloody but alive, had made all of Bartolomeo’s excuses for why he shouldn’t just grab him and finally close that distance between their tidally-locked halves seem… well, not so fuckin’ important. The look they’d shared - as Cavendish turned slowly back, blue eyes tired and grateful and hungry, Bartolomeo’s just as heavy - said everything else, all that they wanted from the future, and the only reason they didn’t tear off what was left of each other’s clothes right there and then was the cannonball which promptly landed about two inches to their left.
But the battle was over now.
