"Aha…" he lets out an awkward chuckle that echoes against the large room as he pulls back his injured hands and lightly taps them against his chin, opening his mouth to respond, but stops because what is there to say? It wasn't like she was wrong.
He didn't spend all this time giving chipper smiles and faux confidence for it to all come crumbling down as he became a stupid trembling mess, but his hands will not stop shaking and--
"Look, look, look, Ash, I appreciate it, I really do, but like I said, everything's fine!" He watches the quilled animal raise a brow in skepticism but he cuts in before she can voice her argument, "Really! Why don't we put a pin in this, and we can discuss it later if it's really bothering you, yeah?"
