Summary
A Cinderella-esque AU. Bilbo, a lonely hobbit of the Shire in the valley outside Erebor, gets a job as a cook in the dwarf kingdom to pass the time and keep himself occupied after his mother’s death. One day he meets a regal dwarf, who he thinks is a thief and trespasser, and throws an apple at his head, never knowing he’s just assaulted the dwarven Prince. Thus begins the antagonistic and somewhat odd courtship of a hobbit and the next King of Erebor.

Summary
As advancing dementia takes the last of the man David Cartwright used to be, more consequences of his machinations decades ago show up to make trouble in the present. Major cyberattacks in the here and now conspire with loose ends from an op in Berlin before the Wall fell that saw Jackson Lamb and Diana Taverner’s younger selves cross paths.
The Park’s leaking like a sieve, so Taverner is obliged to take refuge at Slough House and rely on Lamb and his Slow Horses for her survival. Standish might be back in her old job and trying to look after them all, but what the others don’t know is that the twisted codependency has escalated and Lamb’s distracted by the shifts in their relationship right when he needs to be at the top of his game.
They’ll get through it — probably — but not unscathed and it’s anyone’s guess whether Dander or Coe will end up killing someone along the way.

Great-aunt Pansy Baggins had claimed from the very beginning that nothing good would come from the marriage between the most respectable of the Baggins and the most rebellious of the Tooks. No one believed her when young Bilbo, born too soon and too weak to cry, survived his first weeks into the world.
They changed their mind when, at four years of age, Bilbo transmuted his mother’s cutlery into a flute and began to play the elven lullaby Belladonna sang for him every night.
It caused a scandal. For the Baggins side of the family, anyway. The Took side had a good laugh.

When a figure appears who would rot the world, Sun Witch and Thain Bilbo Baggins is summoned to council to determine how to deal with this threat. Here he meets Moon Witch and Crown Prince Thorin Oakenshield, his stubborn counterpart, and while the attraction is undeniable, the need to handle the threat of the Necromancer before it overtakes Erebor and the world at large.

“Another adventure? Why Gandalf, whatever do you mean?”
“My dear Bilbo,” said Gandalf. “If you so desire, your adventures as a young Hobbit could be just the beginning. The world, after all, is a very large place and you have only seen a very small part of it.”
“I am much too old now for any adventures, as you very well know, Gandalf,” said Bilbo, with a wry laugh.
“I see,” said Gandalf slowly, an expression of solemnity gracing his features. “I have come not a moment too soon."
