OH MY GOD. i he,d off on reading this cause i wanted to dedicate solid ao3 time to enjoying it properly cause i knew how good it was gonna be.
Oscar being unsure whether lando even knew it was him he was dancing with. Max immediately clocking their shit.
Osc is obsessed with him like OBSESSED. that was body worship. He was just so fucking happy to even be there. Shocked that this was even and option.
AND LANDO????? he could never be casual about oscar. He knew what he was doing asking to go home with him. Like the fact that oscar is just some sex god is an added bonus.
Lando being so confident and happy to whole time and then oscar is all “i still have my shoes on” and his face immediately drops. Hes siddenly so vulnerable cause like oh aybe this didnt mean as much to you as it did to me. But lando is so incredibly emotionally intelligent when it comes to oscar. It takes him a second but then he works out that hey actually osc is dealing with something and he doesnt know how to express that and its actually not me.
Lando understanding oscar so much afterwards. In the shower. Giving him his own space. Oscar is going to want to brush his teeth. And was his own hair. Having to point blank spell it out to him in the end that oscar i dont just want this again i want this forever.
My boys. Oscar is so obviously in love with lando. But lando. He loves oscar just as much.

Lando finally peeked back over at him again, the one eye that was visible looking distinctly glassy. Not crying, but definitely in a… Different headspace than he’d been in a few minutes ago.
“Just- Jesus, okay, fine. Just promise you won’t freak out, or, like, quit McLaren or some shit. It’s not a big deal, like, you don’t have to say yes or anything,” he finally began explaining, immediately sending a pit of worry into Oscar’s stomach.
Why was he bringing up the team? What could possibly make him even start to consider quitting? Oscar's mind raced with every possible explanation of what he could be about to ask him, but he kept his face as neutral as possible in an effort to not freak him out more than he clearly already was.

Lando starts to spiral after his DNF in Monaco, and asks Oscar for a favour to help clear his head.

Woah yeah ok. I understand why everyone talks about this. The miscommunication was crazy at the end. Sebmark AND brocedes haunted te narrative so hard it was their main mscmmunaication fr 90% or The story lmao.
Oscars sisters are genuinely so wise and im so glad he had them and lily looking ot for him the whole time. When he had the revelationg that like if he doesnt win, the world still keeps turning. And he still has his sisters and theyre like yeah winning isnt always about the trhophy IGHHHHH
also i know. I just KNOW that the pool and the swimming is a metaphor for something but i just do not have the brain power to disect it.
Mark made me mad. But Adam. adam made me furious.
Lando being all if i cant get him to love me at least i can get him to fuck me. Oh my baby boy he does love u. And u deserve so much better than that.

Summary
Oscar’s well aware that he’s got that tight clench in his chest again. That selfish, greedy clench that he knows is a bad, bad idea. A way to get his feelings hurt all over because Lando’s going to leave him like he always does, and Oscar will have to act normal in the next interview as if he didn’t just see Lando like this, as if Lando hasn’t fucked him up irreparably for anyone else.
And God knows what the future holds for Oscar, but nothing’s ever going to compare to Lando. Nothing. No one will ever come close.
He knows this with absolute certainty.
