Summary
After five years of Will's disappearance, everyone tries to return to what they call 'normal'. Mike Wheeler seems to be the only one forever stuck in a loop of grief and guilt, physically incapable of moving on. The world around him sinks, the whole town and people around him seem to push Mike to the edge.
On the fifth anniversary, the Party uncovers a trace of Will — or what appears to be him. From that moment on, Mike’s life veers violently off course.
Suddenly, everything starts to fall into place.
Or: Will Byers snaps. He worships the Upside Down.

“It’s an aphrodisiac," Dustin told him, still looking at the pill.
“Come again?”
Lucas snorted at the phrase, and Mike glared at him.
Dustin shoved the packet into his bag before looking over to Will. “It’s a sex pill.”
“It’s a—” Will stammered, looking around wide eyed before glancing back at Dustin. “A sex pill? What the hell would we do with that?”
Lucas wiggled his eyebrows. “We have a competition. First one to tap out and jerk off first loses. Which will be all of you first, obviously.”
After the majority of their teenage years got interrupted by monsters from alternate dimensions, the Party starts to work their way through a bucket list of “normal” teenage things they never got the chance to do.
Taking sex pills to have a competition with your friends is totally something all teenage boys do, right?
Mike regrets everything (no he doesn’t.)

Summary
It's 1992, and Mike and Will are juniors in college and living together in a tiny NYC apartment. Life is great. It's everything Mike could ever want: his best friend, an incredible city, and the world at his fingertips. The only problem? He's in love with said best friend and has no idea how he could ever tell him.

“What? No! I mean — I just meant—“ said Mike, struggling with the words, “I… I mean… who is it?” he turned back to Hugo, “Can we know their name? It might be somebody we know already.”
Will frowned, “I hope it’s not,” he said, “I don’t like anybody we know enough to marry them — except our friends, obviously, but that’s different.”
Hugo, if it was even possible, looked somehow immensely more excited by these words, “I can’t tell you who it is,” he giggled, “That’s a really big spoiler.”
Mike Wheeler’s son arrives in Hawkins with no explanation, snapped back in time entirely by accident — and he latches on to none other than Will Byers. If only they all knew why.
