Summary
Buck’s first shift back at the 118 after the lawsuit was nothing like he’d imagined and Buck wasn't sure how he'd bridge the sudden distance between him and his team. But the disappointment of their brush-off was eclipsed when he came home from that first shift to find an old flame waiting on his doorstep with a choice that was really no choice at all. Buck had no idea how to be a dad, especially without the help of the people he'd come to think of as his family, but he was determined to figure it out; and maybe figure out some things about himself along the way.

Summary
Izzy comes across an injured dog that reminds him uncomfortably of Jack Rackham and he can't help but try to save the beast. With Jack gone, and Edward despising Izzy after the deal with the Navy, this little mutt is the only good thing that Izzy has going for him. But keeping the mutt safe means keeping him a secret from his captain and, for that, new alliances may be needed.

Summary
Jack never stayed in any one location for long.
He loved to brag how he couldn’t make it a year in any city before being run out, but Izzy knew him well enough to see the truth of it: Jack was terrified of being abandoned. He was so terrified of it, that he’d built his entire personality around running from the possibility. He never let himself stay anywhere long enough to get attached to anyone, that way no one had the chance to leave him.
How Izzy had become the exception to Jack’s self-imposed isolation, he’d never know.

“What the fu-?”
Jack grinned and posed, one hand on his hip and the other on the back of his head, “What do ya think? You likey?”
Izzy stared, dumbfounded, as he took in the sight before him.In his defense, the Jack that stood before him now was barely recognizable as Izzy’s long time friend and casual lover.

My entries for the twitter OFMD Kinktober 2022 event.
The stories in this series will NOT be connected. They will be disjointed bits of smut to match the day's challenge. I'm an Izzy multi-shipper, so there will likely be a lot of different pairings here too. Each will be tagged appropriately by kink and pairing, so read at your own risk.

Summary
Eddie's spent years trying to find a place to call home with Christopher, hoping that Shannon will come back and then desperately hoping she wouldn't. He thinks he's in the clear when she shows up at his doorstep, demanding they get back together.
Eddie comes up with a foolproof plan: get a fake boyfriend, convince Shannon he's gay, and live happily ever after with his life mostly intact and Christopher safe and happy. Get rid of fake boyfriend when Shannon gives up, and life can resume as normal.
Enter Buck, and the plan goes to hell in a handbasket.

Summary
Buck doesn’t think that if he were to say, “I’m in a bad place”, that anyone would turn him away. Really, he doesn’t. The 118 has too many good, kind people for that.
But every time he wants to open his mouth, to say something, to reach out to Eddie or Bobby or Hen or Chim, he hears Eddie yelling, “you’re exhausting.”
—you’re exhausting, you’re exhausting, you’re exhausting—
So each day he does his job and he laughs and he jokes and he pretends he’s the care-free goofball he’s always been. And each day he packs away his bruises and his worries, takes them home to his empty loft with its quiet rooms, and licks his wounds in silence.

Summary
The kid claps a hand over his mouth. His eyes are huge and sparkling with something that looks like excitement or mischief, probably both.
"Sorry, sorry," he whispers loudly. Then he leans forward, like he's about to share a secret. "You're a hunk, right?"
Buck chokes on nothing. "I. What?"
"A hunk," the kid repeats. "You know, a hunk."
"I..." Buck has no idea what's happening. "Sure? I guess? I mean, I've been told... I work out sometimes—"
"Perfect!" The kid is already digging around in his backpack. He pulls out a slightly crumpled rectangle of cardstock and presents it to Buck with great ceremony. "This is for you."
It's a handmade card written in crayon, blue crayon. The handwriting is careful but wobbly, the letters all different sizes.

Summary
"Eddie?" Shannon picks up on the fourth ring. "Everything okay?"
"I kissed a man," he says.
The silence on the other end stretches for nine thousand years. Eddie can hear Shannon breathing. He can hear his own heartbeat slamming against his ribs. He stares at the apartment building through his windshield, at the lit window on the fourth floor that might belong to E. Buckley, and waits for his ex-wife to say literally anything at all.
"You what?"
"I kissed a man, Shannon. Just now. I was delivering food and he opened the door and I just— I kissed him. On the mouth. And I don't know why."
Another silence. Then a sound Eddie recognizes with dawning horror as Shannon trying very, very hard to suppress a laugh.
"Shannon."
"I'm processing."
"You're laughing."
"I'm processing." She fails spectacularly. "I'm sorry, I just— you kissed a man? Edmundo Diaz? The same Edmundo Diaz who wouldn't watch Brokeback Mountain with me because it made him 'uncomfortable'?"
"It did make me uncomfortable!"
"Yeah, Eddie, I'm starting to understand why."

Summary
Buck hates the days they get new recruits at the station. Mostly, because there is no easy way to say, "Hello, my name is Evan Buckley, I'm twenty-six and yes, I am part cat. Pass the salt." All that before he even whips out the tail.
Eddie Diaz does not make this mission any easier.
(Or - Buck is the department's first cat-human hybrid on hire. What with hybrids having only existed for forty years, it's not exactly easy for him to make friends who don't find his freakishly large ears strange.
Until he meets Eddie.)
