Summary
Seawatt doesn't take it back. You do have to be a special kind of person to know you're going to get betrayed and still let it happen. Maybe he feels a little bad for his words and actions at the corners of his mind, but he calms those feelings with mirth. A mocking glare targeted over his shoulder at Evbo is interrupted by a sharp pain that stems from his lower back.

Summary
Evbo recognizes starvation like a lover.
His years on the Noob level have served him well, giving him access to live demonstrations of the effects hunger has on the body, not to mention giving him a chance to experience it first-hand, long-term.
His hunger and him jump hand-in-hand, one in the same at this point, his sense of self more than intertwined with the writhing beast that was his stomach, his sense of self being that biting feeling inside.
The symptoms are a sore sight to see on Seawatt. Evbo feels no pity within him, nothing but recognition as he watches his enemy grow weaker and weaker over the days, flesh collapsing in on itself as the appetite becomes all consuming.
Maybe, he thinks as he considers the carcass, Seawatt would be insulted by this evidence of his weakness.
Evbo can't bring it in himself to care.
If Seawatt wants to die, then he should wait until Evbo's pried a way home out of him. He's not letting a chance at escape abandon him so quickly.
Or: Evbo actually tries to be nice to Seawatt! It doesn't last very long.

He probably should leave Seawatt alone, go hang out with his friend instead, spend time with people who didn't toy with his head for his whole life.
But Seawatt can't be trusted alone.
And no one else wants to be the one to disturb his solitude, the one who tests the bomb, the one who pokes the beast.
Evbo won't make the same mistake again. He left Seawatt to stew in his misery in peace before; look what happened then.
Or: Evbo visits Seawatt. He gets more than he asked for.

His touch stings, a literal, prickling sensation that signals to Branzy that he should be careful, that he can’t just step into this world.

Summary
Clown is quite familiar with the different ways people act when they’re afraid - fight or flight, and all the variations thereof. Branzy doesn’t really fall into either category. Instead of running or attacking when he’s scared, he bargains and begs and flatters and generally does his best to please whoever is threatening him, shamelessly chameleoning himself into whatever role he thinks is most likely to keep him alive.
In this case, Branzy seems to have decided that the best way to keep Clown happy is absolute, unquestioning obedience.
