One night during the first month he spent on the other side of the walls, huddled next to Bertholdt for warmth, he watched a lightning bolt strike a tree. It was almost otherworldly, the shine that blinded his eyes and the roar that deafened his ears.
The tree split into two perfect halves and every one of Reiner’s questions had been answered. That was the power of lightning, a divisive strike that pulls it all apart.
Tree half to tree half, boy to titan, alive to dead. What was once one will never be so again.
What was once Reiner… will… it will never be him again. He was alive in the same way he was a boy, split perfectly down the middle.

Ylfa knows she and the little girl from this story are the same. She knows it from a logical standpoint, but sometimes she has a hard time believing it. However, right now- studying herself in the window’s crude reflection; a new feeling rushes over her.
A little girl or a hideous beast, she used to wonder to herself.But now a damning thought creeps through her mind. Why not both?

Skip’s got this in the bag.
He’s surrounded by a crew full of people and they don't have a clue. Skip doesn't know a lot about the guy that occupied this body before, the memories aren’t quite clear yet.
But no one has noticed, so he must just be playing this perfectly.Skip will admit it’s been.. awhile since the last time he had a vessel, but damn, he’s still got it. He’s been piloting this body for about four malton units and the Captain’s crew seems none the wiser.
Phew.
And sure, Skip’s not too familiar with human customs, cuz it’s been like a thousand or so years, but the crew hasn't even given him a second glance.
Skip is killing this whole being human thing.
