Summary
When Ilya gets into a car accident on his way back from the cottage and wakes up having lost the last half year of his memories, Shane’s world crumbles.
He keeps telling himself that Ilya will remember, that everything will go back to how it was before, but it’s hard to keep holding on to that hope when Ilya looks at him with so much distrust and hurt in his eyes.Having just spent two wonderful weeks at Shane’s cottage, Ilya’s newfound bliss is cut short when he wakes up in a hospital and the last thing he remembers is playing a game against the Metros back in winter.

“Ah,” Ilya says. “Doctor role-play not for you? This is okay.”
But Shane shakes his head. He fumbles to grasp at Ilya’s hand beside him, and Ilya squeezes back gratifyingly fast, which gives him the confidence to say, “No, it’s not that, it’s just—it was kind of inaccurate.”
