It gives him a thrill when his fist connects the way he wants, when his feet fly over the ground like gravity can’t hold him down, when he knows he’s the strongest and the fastest. When he fights, he sometimes thinks he’s never felt freer. But only sometimes. The rest of the time he knows that fighting is a trap. If you fight once, you’ll have to fight again. Violence is like that, a shadow that’s always lurking. Once it has its claws dug deep, it never wants to let go. The only way to escape it is to tear yourself to pieces.
That or have a beautiful vampire boy come to your rescue.

Whenever Sieun found himself looking over at Suho, he noticed a disconnect in Suho's gaze towards whatever he was staring at. Squinted eyes searching aimlessly, rubbing at his temples the way he would when the migraines returned for another round, as if he was looking at something yet not seeing it.
He knew that Suho wasn't oblivious to it, and that Suho knew Sieun wouldn't be oblivious to it either.
It was a simple waiting game to see how long Suho would let it go on for.
After Suho's vision starts to decline, he begins wearing glasses. Sieun isn't prepared for it in the slightest.

Knowing there’s no other option here, Sieun moves towards him, dragging his feet.
“You’re here? Where’s Gotak?” He's already preparing Gotak’s murder and knowing his location would be helpful.
“Oh him?” Suho says, “Busy, he said. Why, you aren’t disappointed are you? Wouldn’t you rather ride with your favourite hyung?” His floppy bangs shift aside, tongue pushing into his mouth while he looks down at Sieun, smug and cocky like he never fails to be. He’s amused.I’d rather ride you, Sieun thinks spitefully.

Suho thought about In-yeong. The boy inches away seemed to call for it even in sleep. Hours ago, and countless times over the past few months, they'd touched each other and resonated like they’d met each other before. The faintest brush of skin felt like a memory, like they would meet again, and again. He knew he was young, that this could be a fit of devotion some would chalk up to being too naive to see reason. But Suho wasn't stupid.
He couldn’t bring himself to believe Sieun was anything but inevitable.
Maybe fate was real. Maybe no choice he’d made could change anything, after all. He felt it like some distant, unavoidable truth. Like Sieun, and maybe all the rest, had always been coming.

In another life, Sieun stops him from going to the final fight. Maybe it's enough. Maybe.

Yeon Sieun sees the world in variables. It is predictable, solvable, and neat. Every problem is just an equation waiting to be broken down and controlled. And he specifically likes it that way because it’s convenient.
So when he agrees to tutor a bunch of failing deadbeat students for extra credits, he thinks he got this in the bag.
That is, until he’s assigned to Ahn Suho. An annoyingly gorgeous track-and-field athlete with an attention span of a goldfish. Suho is everything Sieun can’t predict: loud, impulsive, emotionally chaotic... and infuriatingly attractive.
