    Summary

In Aziraphale’s shop, there sat a book he had never read. Among Crowley’s memories, there were moments he had never joked about. In all the world, there was one story the two of them had never discussed. A story they could only hold in silence.

—“Don’t be cross, angel,” said War. “Actually, I wanted to thank you both. I was a long way from this damp island when I heard that someone had already done my work for me. Tell me, angel, are you aware of the destructive power of the force you have brought into being?”

Crowley, Aziraphale and the Wars of the Roses.

    Summary

They met at Ana and Newt’s pre-wedding party. Aziraphale remembers being absolutely stunned by Crowley’s good looks—and mortified by his coarse language. That only lasted until they began a hilarious (and frankly unhinged) conversation about the intelligence of dolphins and whales, and something about the kraken, if memory serves. From that moment on, they have been nearly inseparable.

That was five years ago. These days, Aziraphale frequently slips onto a bar stool and keeps Crowley company for a few hours while he works a slow shift at an upscale Mayfair pub, and Crowley spends many a lazy day lounging in Aziraphale’s bookshop in Soho.

But there’s nothing more to it than that. Because Aziraphale and Crowley are merely friends. They’ve never been more than friends. They never will be.

    Of course not.

    Summary

The part Crowley couldn’t bear, the very worst part, was that it was all his fault.

And not in that stupid self-flagellating ‘oh wah this random series of events is all my fault’ way. In the very literal ‘I made a horrible mistake and now someone I care about is suffering because of what I very directly and specifically did’ way.

But to see it, to understand how badly he had fucked up, you had to start at the beginning.

Fill for the prompt: 'hedonists with no foresight decide to torture an angel for funsies'-- but in their case, their comeuppance isn't blind justice enacted by the universe, but very, very particular justice enacted by Crowley, who's come to get his angel back
