There was an acute sense of shame making its way through Wally’s body. He felt heat rise in his cheeks. And what kind of father, what kind of person would need to check constantly that his children were still there in the bassinet, would distrust the baby monitors, would surge awake half a dozen times in one night with a panicky feeling in his ribs that insisted they weren't really there? Not a normal one, certainly.
Or: Wally West is the fastest man alive. He's also a father now. Turns out he has a lot to learn from his twin babies. It also turns out nothing stays buried forever, no matter how much he wishes it could.

The doors opened, and she craned her neck to see her husband walk past the threshold, however it wasn’t him at all.

“What’s a secret?” she asked curiously, and he laughed, and she glared at him, and he felt his love for her like a balloon about to burst inside of him.

There’s a certain intonation in his voice she hasn’t heard in a while. It takes her back to being seven, holding her knife with a weak wrist but all the conviction her little body could muster. To the late nights in the arena when he’d spar with her for real. She rarely won, but that was okay. If it was hard, that meant he was actually trying.
“We?” she stammers.
“Well, you’re not gonna learn if I do it for you.”

Rumi eyes Jinu in the mirror, scowling. “I’m not. It’s just… weird to have them out all the time.”
Jinu, who also has his patterns out all the time and once called them a constant reminder of my shame, shrugs where he’s leaning against the open door frame. “So cover them up.”
“I just—wouldn’t that make me a hypocrite? I sing this huge song about friendship and loving myself and then I go right back to being scared to show my bare arms in front of my two closest friends. It’s ridiculous. I’m ridiculous.”
“Your words, not mine.”
Or: Living is harder than dying. Jinu and Rumi move forward.

Rumi’s chest constricted, her throat suddenly tight. She could still hear his voice so clearly– she could still see him in his final moments, sacrificing himself for her. Choosing her over himself, when he could have easily done the opposite.
'And now, I give it to you.'
Rumi looked away from the moon's glow, her stomach in knots, her chest heavy with that same guilt she’s felt for weeks. She’d make it count. She’d make his sacrifice worth it... somehow.
Or;
rumi needs answers, and jinu watches her struggle with his absence from the underworld.
