And he has a thing for Dennis but doesn't know how to navigate that. But somehow it works out perfectly when Dennis gets hurt and needs to be taken care of.

Summary
Ya know how Jack and Robby have their issues? Well in this series of short stories it goes through all the breakdowns! The ones where Robby is crying in that same damn childrens hospital room or Abbot has disapeared and is on the roof again. In this Robby and Jack are married, but like no one really knows cause they got married and never acted any different than they did before(maybe another fic later lol). I mainly wrote this because I was sick and tired of reading other Rabbot fics where something goes wrong and they both instanrtly baby the other. Like be fr. Jack Abbot is a medic in the military he aint switching a 180 just cause its Robby whose having an issue. But anyways...this is my first time writing a fanfic after being a longterm reader for years so I hope you enjoy!

They had all seen it. Humiliation crawled hot beneath his skin. And because humiliation had always been intolerable, because shame had always felt like a hot iron down his throat, Robby’s mind did what it had trained itself to do since childhood. It turned the shame into anger. He latched onto it greedily.
Dennis had no right to do that in front of everyone. No right to challenge him on the floor. No right to humiliate him in his own department. If Dennis had a problem with the way he ran things, he should have waited. Should have handled it privately. Should have pulled him aside instead of dressing him down like some reckless intern.
Robby clung to that narrative desperately. He had to. Because if he admitted, even for one second, that Dennis had been right… Then he would have to face what he had become in that moment. And he wasn’t ready for that.
Or, Established Hucklerobby argue very publicly in the ED. Robby, of course, spirals about it. after.

She stares at her phone helplessly, then looks back to Robby.
“Fuck,” he barks out. “Fuck. Fine, I’ll…I’ll go figure something out.”
He turns on his heel and starts walking towards the cops.
Her phone dings one more time.

Melissa woke up to her phone ringing, she turned over to look at her alarm clock.
3:15 am.
Who was calling this late at night, or early in the morning? She grabbed her phone and squinted her eyes. The screen read “Frank”. Her co-worker at the ER. She answered and in a tired voice she mumbled.
“Hello?”
“Mel?” Frank’s voice was heavy, like he was worried about something. “Were you sleeping? I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you–”
“Frank, are you okay? Something sounds wrong.”
“Uhm, can you come over? I don’t think I can be alone right now. I don’t know how to explain it, but-”
“I’ll be over.”
Frank Langdon is struggling and calls the only person he can think of, Mel, to help.
