Summary
Rocky visits Grace's life support quarters with some exciting news, some time into his recovery on Erid---the biodome habitat has finally been completed.
It takes a step through the airlock and sinks down into rough sand and pebbles. I chirp and hop down after it. Grace has not seen the biodome yet, but neither have I, and in my enthusiasm I dart slightly ahead.
Grace inhales so sharply that I turn to hear him better in a panic. “Grace? Grace, what is wrong? You are hurt?”
My assumption is quickly corrected when, without warning, it bolts.

“…Did not think you’d notice.” He finally said, slumping a little. “Did not want you to notice-“
“In what world would I have missed it, bud?” Grace huffed with an exasperated smile, nudging into Rocky’s side. “You’re the highlight of my day, y’know.”
Rocky let out a happy chirp, seemingly involuntarily. He hunched in on himself after, as if embarrassed the sound had escaped him at all, and shuffled his legs a little in the sand.
“As are you of mine.”
