Summary
Dennis doesn’t leave, not yet. He sits with his back against the wall, watching Pope.
It suddenly seems so quiet and small in this room. The silence is so loud, which seems impossible, but it buzzes hard in Dennis’s ears.
He observes the way the moonlight from the window shines on the sweat on Pope’s skin. He gets up.
Pope stirs before speaking, “Where’re you going?”
“I’m just going to the couch so you can get some sleep.”
“Don’t sleep on the couch. Sleep here.”
Dennis pauses. The words hang heavily in the air. Alarm bells go off in Dennis’s head, the thought of crawling into bed with a man who uses butane torches for first aid purposes, who probably has a gun or two stashed around his apartment– this mysterious, obvious escape plan apartment.
But something strong inside of him wants to, wants to curl up into this man’s mattress and fall asleep next to him. That very irrational part of him is winning.
OR
When Jack Abbot's estranged brother shows up at the Pitt seeking his help, he asks Dennis for a favor: take care of Pope's injury and observe him for forty-eight hours. Things get complicated fast.

Summary
In 1823, Father Jack Abbot arrives in a remote town where no priest lasts long and where the dead are never found whole. The Church blames wolves, bandits, and God’s will. But Jack sees the pattern, and every trail leads into the forest. To the witch they all fear.
Samira is everything he’s been taught to fear. Heretical, dangerous, steeped in blood magic, and most importantly; banned from the Church. She is also nothing he expected: calm, deliberate, and unwilling to kill.
But she's also the main suspect in the case. Jack doesn't know if he can trust her.
Drawn together by suspicion and necessity, they form a fragile alliance to uncover the truth behind the killings. But with every secret they unravel, the line between faith and heresy begins to blur, and so does the line between them.
Because someone is targeting the town. And the closer Jack gets to the truth, the closer he gets to the one person he should destroy.

Summary
Jack didn’t go in much for praying anymore. No point, not when nobody upstairs seemed to give a shit either way. Praying was for altar boys and little kids and people who wanted their football team to win the Superbowl; for parents in his ER who refused medical care for their dying children in favor of speaking in tongues and yelling up the ladder to something that didn’t answer. Not for him. He believed in only a few things, and none of those were anything big enough to pray to.
Well, almost none. There’d been one thing. A person, really. Bigger than a person, though. More like a grand, orchestral concept, a hope half-divine, fifty-two percent of the reason he kept showing up to work for four years straight.

It was just a normal summer day-- until it wasn't anymore.
Jack gets woken up with the call to go on a SWAT raid, and that's when his day goes to Hell. He forgot his leg charger at the Pitt, and slowly the battery is dying.
Dana was having an oddly slow day at work. Those days usually mean something bad is brewing on the horizon. She didn't expect the day to blow up into chaos. She had thought her secret was safe, but she was way too easy to read to others.
But with one poor mistake in the field and stubborn pride aside, chaos doesn't just rain; it pours.

It wasn’t that Parker hated Santos. On the contrary, Santos had made a great first impression the day of Pittfest. Awful first day for an intern, but after some light prodding, Santos had rallied spectacularly and even had a great pickup with the suicide-kit patient. She might be a bit irascible, Parker couldn't argue with her results.
So, no, Parker didn’t hate Santos.
But she did find the R2 fucking annoying.

Summary
Cruz and Ellis are running alongside a gurney coming from the ambulance bay. Robby feels like he’s walking in slow-motion. He doesn’t see the face on the gurney, but he does see a hand grabbing Ellis’ scrub and hear what is unmistakably Jack’s voice say “Not Robby”, before the hand falls to the side.
Three more steps – and Robby doesn’t want to take them, doesn’t think he can do it, but still his body moves – and he’s there, Shen and Al-Hashimi beating him by a second. On the gurney, pale, so very pale, is the unmistakable shape of Jack. His chest is barely lifting, his breathing labored. Robby can’t wrap his mind around that.
Jack gets hurt, Robby gets a lot of time to think about his feelings and has a heart-to-heart with Jake, and the whole “it’s you and me” thing takes on its full meaning.
