Summary
Living with Lan Zhan really is the best thing that could have happened to Wei Ying – the man cooks, cleans, and is always a genuine pleasure to be around. He’s so glad that his friend managed to get him to stop being such a stubborn dumbass (which Wei Ying knows he can be, occasionally) and just move into Lan Zhan’s spare bedroom.
The only thing Wei Ying could even try to find fault with his roommate for would be that, well, he tends to leave the shared bathroom door open whenever he needs to piss. Not that it’s that big of a deal! The man’s probably just used to living alone, and it’s not like Wei Ying hadn’t forgotten and done the same himself back when he used to live with Jiang Cheng. Honestly, it’s such a small thing that it’s not even worth bringing up.
Lan Zhan is perfect, after all, and it wouldn’t do to embarrass him over something so inconsequential.
AKA Wei Ying and Lan Zhan figure out how to be roommates. As the two learn to get used to living with each other, habits are formed, for better or for worse.

Summary
“Wei Ying?” The voice which speaks into the sudden silence is hoarse and shaking and ...familiar?
There’s a shift like movement to his right and he tenses automatically against the blow.
“Wei Ying?” No blow comes. Only that voice again and yes, it’s definitely familiar. Familiar but ...not from now. It’s a ‘before’ voice and he doesn’t let himself think about ‘before’ so he shies away from the memory, pushing it down down down as he does all memories that come before the dark and the pain. Still, something seeps through, an image: long black hair, jade pale skin, white robes, a headband, and lips set into a disapproving line.
OR Wei Wuxian is being kept in some dark horrible dungeon underground until the day Lan Wangji finds out he's still alive.

When Wei Ying died, he really did believe it was for the best.
It had been months in the making—years if he was being honest. His resolve to live was like a cliffside that the ocean’s waves beat against again and again and again. And he did try, really, to live. He tried so hard, that was the worst part. He had tried so hard to live that, when he finally did make the decision to die, the only thing he regretted was all of the wasted effort he had put into pretending like everything would one day be alright.
