Summary
Fox comes back to himself somewhere in the tar-black guts of Coruscant. He comes to, like he's walking through sludge, feet scraping across— sand? gravel? —the ground in the subconscious way someone breathes. There's something heavy slung across his shoulder, and he almost topples, swaying back and forth like a buoy on Kamino's surface. An awful stench seeps through the filter of his bucket.
There are five thousand, one hundred and twenty-seven levels between the Senate Building and the long-drained ocean floor of Coruscant.
(or: fox snaps out of the weirdest fucking blackout mission of his life. this, naturally, has consequences. )

Summary
Do you understand? the very fabric of existence asks, and Cal, clinging to the line between life and death, thinks no—
For a brief moment, an infinite moment, a moment everywhere in between, he encompasses the universe, and the universe encompasses him. Around, around, around he goes, and there is a terrible emptiness in the space where he and the cosmos exist.

Summary
Death might be here for Will Byers, again. This time, it is formless. This time, it sidles up right alongside his heart, and it asks him, in an approximation of a language that does not contain words, do you give up?
No— no, he does not.
"Will? Will, come on, please, say something—" Mike's rambling by his ear, clutching onto him like a fishing line.
"Mike," he makes his lips say, because saying Mike's name is as natural as breathing.
Mike's looking at him with wonder-slackened lips, and Will's looking back, couldn't look away even if he wanted to.
death has come for will byers more than once. unconditional love just so happens to have come more.

Summary
"Ma, are ghosts real?" he asks one day out on the porch, shaded from the sun.
She's got a cigarette pressed to the seal of her lips. She blows out a ring of smoke— it catches in his nostrils, and he scrunches his nose. His ma's face does that thing where it goes saggy and twisted, like a sad statue, and she pretends he isn't there until she realizes he won't go away.
"Fuck kinda question's that?" she mutters. "No, boy, ghosts ain't real. There's just us. The living."
He wants to say more, wants to ask but what if you saw one, what if you saw dead boys walking in the street, ma. But the words dry in his mouth, and his ma is quiet again, so he slips through the door in two breaths.

Summary
In the time Khaenri'ah sprints towards the date of its judgment, Dainsleif is uneasy, a feeling he won't quite be able to explain the reason for until some time later. It becomes terrifyingly apparent, he realizes, as he watches Khaenri'ah rot from the inside out, as pride supersedes fear, as his nation unravels at the seams.
Hubris spells out downfall in every cautionary tale told by man and deity alike: arrogance has a price. As the blind lead the blind, the godless nation digs a grave.
(khaenri'ah falls; dainsleif wanders the world, a wraith)
