What could he say anyway, when Jan can read him like an open book? “You like when I call you mine too?”
“Yes,” Nace admits sheepishly, barely more than a whisper.
Jan smiles again. He brushes his thumb over the back of Nace’s hand tenderly, even as his eyes burn with intensity.
“Good,” he says softly, “because that’s exactly what I’m planning to do.”
