Jeung Yoonchae is a korean woman. She was born in Korea and grew up in Seoul.
Yoonchae has korean ideals. She’s never really delved into the topic of homosexuality, as she never really found it important. I mean, you love who you love, it’s simple right?
Lara was the first to come out to them during Dream Academy. She remembers. They had all given her their immediate support.

“So we’re a couple,” Megan joked then turned her head back to look at Yoonchae. Yoonchae was already staring at her but Megan could sense that the vibe was different. Maybe it was because of the music or maybe it wasn’t, but the atmosphere between the two of them shifted.
“We are.” Yoonchae said, her voice quieter. She sounded so sure and confident that Megan believed they really were together for a split second. Their faces were fairly distant but it also felt too close at the same time.
Megan swallowed nervously.

Summary
Megan knew eyes told stories. Her grandmother - her po po had taught her old sayings, drilling it into her head since she was a little girl big enough to pick up and cradle, weighing as much as two watermelons.
Maybe “drill” wasn’t the right way to say it. Maybe her po po would say “keeping the traditions alive.” That’s what she had gotten used to saying when a sniffling blonde girl asked her why she was so wise.

It was 1:00 and Yoonchae could not sleep. She was thinking of Megan. It seemed all she thought of recently was Megan. When she closed her eyes the image of Megan’s face was burned into her lids, looking back at her with that damned puppy dog stare. No matter how hard she tried, she could not rid her thoughts of Megan. And believe her, she’s tried.
Yoonchae cannot sleep and instead wallows in despair over falling in love with her best friend.
