Being alive is filled with so many small nuisances, like having to use the bathroom, clip toe nails, blow your nose. Our minds are trapped in fleshy prisons that must be maintained, fed and washed. Then add to that all the mistakes we make with our words, actions and choices. Being alive is a lot of work. Why do we do it? Why put up with all the pain and suffering? Maybe there are just enough good moments to make it worthwhile. Maybe we just accept that living is suffering. Maybe we are still optimistic enough to hope it gets better. Or, maybe our subconscious knows there is something better coming our way.
