“You mean before he fell completely in love with Edward and then spent at least ten years convincing himself it’s mere loyalty he feels,” Lucius replies.
Read gives Lucius an assessing look. “Figured all that out in just the time he’s been on your crew?”
“Sort of my job,” Lucius replies. “Reader, writer, therapist. Don’t pay me enough for the last one, let me tell you.”
“Should give our crew a try,” Read says. “I bet Hands has a spare mesh shirt.”
“Sorry,” Lucius chokes. “A spare what?”
