Summary
Bull stormed into the camp, Dorian in his arms. Dorian grumbled, “I can't believe I'm allowing this. Manhandled by an oversized lumbering ox.”
“Aww, you say the sweetest things,” Bull said absently, his good eye sweeping the camp until he finally spotted Solas near his tent at the same moment that Solas spotted Aelin.
Aelin, who was very much not struggling to put one foot in front of the other, no matter what anyone said.
Solas moved, not toward Bull and Dorian, but bypassed them entirely to reach Aelin. She stopped at the edge of camp, fighting not to grimace as pain shot from her hip to her ribs. Solas took in the blood on Aelin's armor and asked quietly, “Are you hurt?”
Cassandra didn't say anything, just brushed past the two of them and headed for the pot of stew Varric had stood up to tend. Dorian drawled, “Oh, yes, he must make sure his vhenan isn't so much as bruised, nevermind the mage who isn't even on his own two feet.”
Solas ignored him, arching an eyebrow at Aelin. Fists clenched at her sides, she gritted her teeth, looked him in the eye, and lied. “I'm fine. The blood’s all his.”

Summary
Fucking Solas. Even in his glaring absence from the Inquisition, from Aelin's life, he still managed to consume her every waking thought.
Aelin wondered where he was, if he was safe, if he'd been getting enough to eat, if he was dreaming of her in the Fade the way she was dreaming of him. She couldn't shake the ghost of him, not even in her sleep. She'd see him sometimes in her dreams, standing across a massive chasm, but as soon as she'd call his name or move toward him, he'd disappear again.
Cassandra and Cullen had suggested that Aelin needed a change of scenery to clear her head. A trip abroad would surely relieve some of the pressure she still lived with as the Inquisitor, even after defeating Corypheus. And wasn't it lucky that Dorian was already in Tevinter for the month, representing the Inquisition to the Imperium's Magisterium? Perfectly positioned to take care of Aelin as her mind slowly unraveled from the stress of her job.

Summary
“Are you sure you can make it on your own?” Dorian had asked, the words slurred, as if Bull weren't already half-carrying him out of the Herald's Rest behind her.
Aelin had waved him off. “I'm fine, Dorian. I know the way to my own quarters.”
So then…
How did she end up here?
In this small, out-of-the-way room, surrounded by books and scrolls and paints and potion herbs, hovering inside the closed door, staring at him.
The one place in this whole gods-forsaken keep that she was not supposed to be.

Summary
Josephine yanked the blankets off her, and Aelin hissed as she lurched upward after them, much to her stomach's displeasure. “I do apologize, Inquisitor, but I assure you, it cannot wait.”
“I don't give a shit what Lord or Duke has notions of monopolizing my time. I am dead to the world today.” Aelin glanced around the bed and noticed her dagger still sticking out of the headboard. She yanked it free with stiff fingers, every joint aching as if her body had decided to reward her attempt to drink away her pain with more pain.
Josephine didn't even flinch. “My lady, I must insist –”
“I'm fairly confident Skyhold won't fall apart without my direct supervision for one more day –”
“Dorian is fighting with Solas in the courtyard,” Josephine said as she opened up the closet and began searching for something for Aelin to wear.
“He's – what?”

Summary
“What do you intend to do with Blackwall?”
Aelin's eyes snapped to his. Just like that, the fight was back. She yanked her hand away. “I don't know yet, but I take it you have opinions.”
Solas vanished into himself. The shutters closed. His face was unreadable once more. “I do,” he said, “but I would hear your thoughts on the matter first, without my influence.”

Summary
Dorian knew he should stay out of it, it wasn’t his business. Mineave didn’t speak to him, didn’t like him around her Tranquil charges, looking at him like he was a wolf walking among sheep. The Templars looked at him the same way, waiting for him to show his teeth, waiting for a reason to strike him down. Stepping in would win him no friends.
Well, fuck friends, it wasn’t like he was making them anyway.

Summary
Dorian Pavus was a master of many things - fashion, magic, charm, debate, ruining a family dinner- but he excelled at nothing so much as he excelled at enduring.
Oh, he complained about it. Endlessly and with extreme gusto. If he was forced to endure a constant state of discomfort, he was determined to share the wealth. Misery loved company after all. But Dorian was intimately aware of the things he was capable of surviving. Violence enacted on him, body and soul, since childhood, by the world and by himself. But Maker be damned if he was going to stay silent about it.~*~
During a mission in the Hinterlands, Dorian is injured. The Inquisitor tends to him, and Dorian begins to realize that maybe he doesn't understand as much about Mathalin Lavellan as he thought.
