  Summary

  This work takes place between Book 1 (The Light That Blinds Us) and Book 3 (The Shadows that Find Us).
  Surviving the trial didn’t bring Alexis peace. Back at the Haven, the Shadow Man's whispers are growing louder, harsher, and more violent—demanding the blood of the only people Alexis has left to care about. He thinks he can fight the darkness behind a locked door and some training dummies. He is wrong.
  And when Blaise decides to check on his exhausted friend, he walks straight into a nightmare he never saw coming.
