Summary
Arla Fett, newest Death Watch recruit, finds an unlikely benefactor.
The ghost sat down on the floor opposite her. For a moment, he just looked at her. He reminded her of dad, a little: the same face he sometimes had when he looked out at the fields.
"My name," the ghost said, "is Tarre Viszla."

“--and then when he’s all out of samples, the intern spits—” Scorch mock-hocked, and if it weren’t for the glass between them and the whitejob mess down below, Sev was certain he would have spat. Thankfully for the lunches below them, he only swallowed. “--and scrambles up the tube, and ta-daa, you get the tall one.”
The squad was left the shitty, icy tundra table, and even as they nudged into the seats on the far end, the few brothers who took what they could get stood up and left them to it, shooting looks over their shoulders and then laughing loud enough to make it up to them on the gangway.
The tall one grabbed Sev’s sharp eye. He had a pale crop of hair, definitely not blonde, thin as a whip with gaunt cheeks. He alone remained upright while his squad hunched over their trays and made quick work of their meal, head up and…
Scanning. Something horribly akin to recognition shivered down Sev’s spine. The karking mutie was on watch duty, eyeing the collected masses of cadets just like Sev had been doing, earlier.
Sev meets Crosshair. Crosshair meets Sev.

Summary
Something this special, they decided, had to be carefully thought out. This would cause them to stand out from the millions of other clones, this would differentiate them even from their thousands of commando brothers. This was about individualizing themselves. This was about expression and Vau had chosen them as the first of his trainees worthy of that privilege. They gave this the serious consideration they gave any of Vau’s harshest tests.
Except for Sev.
Commandos being able to paint their armor was a privilege but not one they were all comfortable with.
