She goes from being the class pariah, her only friend being the cold and highly irritable (at least when Mari isn't around) Félix Graham de Vanily, to a prized and highly respected Princess of China. Her uncle is the new Emperor, and her whole family has been hurled up into the world, where status and influence over everything as much as money does.
Félix has also had a major change. He already came from old money, his family being one of the oldest names in the UK. He was considered minor nobility before, a fact he never advertised.
