Summary
The beach is always changing.
Alex finds it ironic that this is the first time in his life he's letting himself sit still, and it’s in a place that is never the same twice. Waves come in and replace the sand and silt with every swell. People leave behind footprints that mix and overlap and then wear away. Sand castles are built, destroyed, and built again differently.
It's a place consistent in its inconsistency.
But for now, it's home. Or something like it.

Henry had to go to London on Royal business, and Alex had to stay behind to finish up his finals for NYU Law. Left to his own devices, Alex's self-destructive tendencies come to the forefront, leaving Henry to help him pick up the pieces upon his return to New York. This is my first story, so apologies for any mistakes!
