Jonny swallows back the hell no that threatens to spill embarrassingly from his lips. He shrugs, feigning casual and says “I think I can handle it.”

It’s a strange feeling that Patrick can’t entirely wrap his mind or his feelings around. Not that he wants Jonny there – this is his home and his family, and it’s always his favorite place to be, and Jonny’s never been a part of that, and he still isn’t, even if he’s staying there for the summer.
