“I’m so proud of you, Laurent,” Damen murmured as his fingers began untying the laces on Laurent’s back. He could see that Laurent was untying the laces on his forearms. “You’re going to be the greatest King of Vere. And Akielos, of course.” Damen leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to Laurent’s nape, his lips skimming over the golden hair there.
“I don’t want to have sex tonight.”
Damen’s fingers stilled in the laces. He looked up to catch Laurent’s reflection in the mirror but Laurent’s eyes were stubbornly fixed to his own forearms. Laurent’s voice was clipped, something that Damen was slowly growing unused to.The day of Laurent's coronation was meant to be joyous. When he knelt as a Prince and rose as a King, something changed inside him. Damen just wanted to be let in to find out what happened.
