    Venti awakes to hear Lumine once again crying for her brother in the middle of the night. Something finally snaps inside, deciding he's had enough of this. Aether needs to know a god disapproves of what he's doing to his twin. Venti rarely slips into his role as Barbatos.

    This is one of those times. He didn't think he was worthy to be called a god at times, not after his failure to protect his first friend. But this wasn't that. This was his love for Lumine speaking through him, and a desire to help her finally be free of one burden.

    Winds aren't always a good thing, after all. Sometimes they're a gentle breeze, sometimes they're a gale.

    What happened next seemed to be in slow motion; Lumine turned to face Venti, a defiant and confident smile on her face, that red stain on the center of her dress growing larger and larger. And then she fell, and it was like watching a mountain crumble to dust. Venti moved before he could even think about what he was doing, he sent a pillow of anemo energy to cushion her as she hit the ground and the next second he was at her side, cupping her face in his hands. Her eyes were closed and her skin was pale and clammy, but she was breathing, at least. He did the first thing that came to mind and enveloped them both in his own aether to quickly move to his statue at Windrise. He didn’t know if it would work the same for her, but the air there had healing properties that helped him and she, too, was a little more than mortal, so it might work the same way. It had to work the same way.
