It’s an impossible thought.
Newt’s mother was capable of abandoning someone that she supposedly loved, but Newt swore that he would never do what his mother did. That he would never treat someone that he loved like that.
So what the hell happened in Hong Kong?
There must be some sort of misunderstanding. There must be some sort of explanation.
Newt wouldn’t do that. He wouldn’t abandon his person, the one that he loves more than anyone else in the world.
“He has been in love with you since he was twenty-five, Hermann. There is no way that he just left you. I know that my son can be restless, but when he sets his eyes on a star, he never moves from it. Why do you think that he has six doctorates?”
“He left, I know it, I saw the note that he left. He wanted to go to Shanghai.” Hermann's voice cracks when he says, “What if this is his new star?”
