Letty, give him back the stupid lug wrench. Her excitement had vanished, replaced by concern. “Can’t you see he’s going through it?”
Letty hadn’t seen that, maybe. She’d thought they had been joking. She pulled herself upright and squinted at him. Then she said, “Christ. Was the chick married?”
“Not married,” Dom said. “I mean, I don’t think so.” And the money shot. “Not a chick, either.”

He glares at Valarr, breathing heavily. They had humiliated him out there in the field, and now Valarr is here, speaking of things Aerion could not care less about and being the annoyance he always is, looking upon him with those infuriating eyes, cool and calm as Aerion burns from within.
He opens his mouth to tell him to leave once more, and Valarr is stepping forward and grabbing his chin, pushing Aerion back before he can do anything but widen his eyes.
He falls on the hard floor, hissing in pain as Valarr sits on top of him, his strong hold on Aerion's chin forcefully turning his face and pressing it against the filthy floor.
