Day 3—Kidnapping
Before Childe knew it, the man was kneeling down in front of him, seemingly unbothered by the snow. Childe could see the man’s intensely amber eyes, a deep gold in the sunlight like honey, and the warm, serene smile across his face. Up close, the man seemed less scary. Maybe even handsome and kind. He smelled piney and smokey and masculine, a bit like Papa when Papa shifted into his human form.
“Little fox,” the man said, stroking one gloved hand across Childe’s netted fur cheek. “If you don’t struggle, I can free you.”
