“I miss you," he said, finally.
“I’m right here,” said Diluc, and Kaeya gave a mirthless laugh.
“You know what I mean.” He turned his head just enough to scrape his lips over Diluc’s fingers and was rewarded with a sharp intake of breath. “Please?” he said again, tongue darting out to wet the skin immediately in front of him, tasting Diluc’s warmth even through his glove.
Kaeya manages to worm his way into Diluc's bed. Diluc's reciprocation is far beyond anything he expected.

Summary
With that, Kaeya's smile dropped — well, not completely. Now, displayed on his face was a rueful grin, as he slumped back down in his seat. The captain seemed rather hesitant, as if contemplating on whether or not to tell Diluc whatever it is that's bothering him. The older of the two wondered if it was something really serious for the younger to act this way and was about to push further when the other spoke again.
‘I lost my voice.’
Or, Kaeya lost his voice and Diluc is miraculously the only one who can hear him through his head thus it's up to him to get back what was rightfully his brother’s.

Summary
It's not that Diluc necessarily expected everything to be the same when he returned to Mondstadt. It's only that he didn't expect these particular changes - or, perhaps, that he hadn't expected Kaeya to change. With two such different people, the ruins of the past between them, will they ever find equilibrium? Diluc doesn't know. The only thing he's certain of is that they can't seem to stay away from each other.
