jason calls bruce ‘dad’ and b is visibly moved, gruff voice shaky, sheen of tears behind lenses and all that, as he tries to brush past it (bc if b made a big deal jay would flip his shit, for the discourse ™ )
so jason gets into the habit of dropping the d-word in there just to see what he can get away with, want a batmobile? take it. fleeing his siblings after irritating them? you do you jay chum.________
"See, Tim?" Jason called over his shoulder sardonically. "Dad agrees with me."
He turned back to his food for a moment before the thought suddenly occurred to him that the Cave had gone near silent. He cautiously glanced back at the others. Alfred was still working away at stitching Tim up. Tim looked a little pale and sweaty, but he was glancing over at Jason with a look that was a mixture of concern and confusion. Bruce was standing stock-still, seemingly staring off into space.

"Oh fuck," They hiss once they're close enough, and there are suddenly a pair of hands on him, touching his face with trembling fingers and ghosting over the space on his chest that isn't impaled by the debris, "Oh fuck. Damian! Damian, can you hear me? Shit. Shit."
It suddenly dawns on him — Damian is trapped and he's going to die with Jason Todd.
Somehow, this has become marginally worse than simply dying alone.
(After a warehouse explosion, Damian is trapped under rubble. He only wishes he was trapped alone.)

Summary
Tim can't believe what he's seeing. He knew it had been many hours since he'd slept, but really, having nightmare hallucinations about Bruce adopting another kid is a bit much.
When he finally finds his voice stuck at the back of his throat, realising this is nothing but an unfortunate reality, Tim smacks a hand over his face, "Bruce, no."
The man frowns, "It's Damian," he whispers in defence.
Tim feels his blood pressure skyrocket from that statement alone, "Like that's any better!"
(Damian gets hit with a de-age spell.)

Summary
Bruce steps first, heavy and purposeful, testing the ground beneath him. New and fresh coats of snow can be misleading, hiding holes and rocks and cracks in the mountain's edge. Bruce is meticulous to make sure the path he's taking is safe for him and Damian.
Yet, somehow, he misses it. By only a few inches to the left.
He pulls forward, tugging encouragingly at the rope around his waist for his son to follow. Damian does. Robin always follows Batman.
And then Robin falls.
(Damian is going on a self-discovery journey to the Alps, Bruce tags along.)
