Summary
One year after his return to the PTMC, if you asked Frank Langdon what his plans were going to be for a week in July, he probably would not have predicted he'd be spending it vacationing with his colleagues at a campground somewhere in the Poconos. But it's not just the weather that's heating up and making him sweat... his relationship with Mel King is on the verge of becoming something else entirely.

Summary
“It’s easier if I stay out of the way. I’m good at it.”
Frank’s body shifted as his head tilted and face softened into something more attentive that made Mel’s breath hitch as she noticed his long fingers tapped once, twice against the counter.
“You shouldn’t have to be good at that, Mel.”
Mel looked away as her throat suddenly felt very tight. Her mom always thanked her for being the easy one, the one she didn’t have to worry about. And to hear Frank just lay it out so simply when he’d known her for less than a day—like it’s a fact, like it’s data he had analyzed and understood immediately—not a lot of people looked at her invisibility and saw it as a burden, most people didn’t think twice about it.
But he did.

Summary
“So, we gonna talk about it?” Frank looks up from his plate, where he’s swirling a fry around in ketchup, his eyes locking with hers.
Mel both loves and hates his penchant for direct eye contact. She never doubts that he’s listening. Never has to wonder if he really sees her. At this point, he might know her better than anyone. Can basically read her like an open book. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t occasionally try some evasive maneuvers.
“Talk about what?” she asks, reaching for her cup to take a long sip of her water.
“You.” He pops the fry into his mouth and swallows before continuing, eyes still locked on her face. “Online dating.”
--
When, at Trinity Santos' urging, Mel decides to give online dating a try, she feels a bit in over her head. It's a good thing she's got Frank Langdon to help. Maybe what she's looking for might not be so hard to find after all. -

Summary
“Well, Aunt Irene asked if you were bringing any one.”
“... And you told her no. Because I’m not bringing anyone. Right?”
“I did not do that.” Becca said, looking sideways, avoiding Mel’s eye.
Mel blanched, swallowing hard, eyelids stuttering. But she had to keep her cool. She could not yell. She could not freak out.
“I told Aunt Irene that you were bringing your boyfriend.”
“Becca,” She said, as calmly as she could, “I don’t have a boyfriend. You know that. I’ve never had a boyfriend.” The last line, in a whisper.
“Well, I told her that Dr. Langdon was your boyfriend.”
Mel brings Dr. Langdon as her plus-one to her cousin Claire's wedding. Dr. Langdon is all too willing to pretend to be her boyfriend. Maybe a little too willing? To follow: a dog bite, spanking-related misunderstandings, erotic steak eating, and of course: only-one-bed!
