    Summary

    Lucifer kissed him slowly.
    Like he was something delicate.
    Precious.
Or something that would shatter if handled with anything less than absolute reverence. And perhaps, some part of Lucifer still feared that possibility.
Alastor worried about it too—if he were honest.
It still didn’t stop his fingers from curling around Lucifer’s waist, his grin twitching, sharp and stiff, not quite relaxing.
Still, Lucifer kept murmuring against his skin, golden eyes slipping closed for brief moments of time as he peppered his skin with soft kisses from the corner of Alastor’s mouth to his jaw. Then to his throat.
All the while, whispered confessions spilled from his lips.
    “Exquisite…”
    “My Beloved…”
    “Gorgeous…”

    Summary

It all started with a laugh.
Alastor hadn’t meant to—hadn’t wanted to. But he had been blindsided. How was he supposed to know the obnoxious, pathetic excuse for a King had a sense of humor…?
    --
In which Lucifer discovers Alastor's love of pun-based humor, particularly at a TV-headed demon's expense.

    Summary

He had tried to purge the doubt from his mind—genuinely, desperately tried—but a millennia of abandonment and isolation couldn’t be scrubbed away in a few short months. No matter how many honeyed assurances were whispered into his ear by that static-laced, radio-filtered voice, the deep-seated fear remained. It was a phantom limb, aching with the memory of what it felt like to be cast down and forgotten.

Lucifer's struggle with accepting Alastor is essentially unresolvable and results in self-destruction, culminating in a promise made ten thousand feet in the air during a moment of passion. i.e., they have sex in the sky.

    Summary

In the remains of Vox's divine weapon, Lucifer appeared nearly forgotten. However, it was the most unexpected of sinners—equally injured and battered—who reached out a hand and pulled him from the wreckage.

The Demon’s hand lingered—a disconcertingly warm weight on the King's upper arm—waiting to ensure Lucifer was steady on legs that felt like crumbling stone. The foreign, sustained contact made Lucifer’s skin prickle, but it was not the expected nausea of disgust. To his utter horror, deep in the marrow of his bone-deep exhaustion, he found himself profoundly relieved to feel the slightest bit of a comforting, steadying presence—a touch that was not administered in pain or malice. He had been utterly alone in the wreckage, surrounded only by the ghosts of his own inadequate power, and now the unlikeliest of sinners was showing the rarest, most forbidden form of basic consideration.

“Careful, Bambi,” Lucifer murmured, the nickname laced with a dry, venomous sting. “Someone might actually start to think you have a heart."
