Amaru wants in, but Kate's too strong. Even for her, thus a deal was struck, with one chance to go back in time, and fix everything. Only downside, if she fails to change the past and ends up back at that well, the place she died. then Amaru gets full control of her body. She also certainly didn't plan on falling in love with Seth gecko, and changing the past was a lot harder than she thought
