Sunrise was still at least an hour away, but there was a slight brightening of the sky along the horizon when Molly said, “She’s a curious thing that little goblin of yours.”
Caleb closed his eyes, just for a moment. It was easy to forget with how loudly he loved to proclaim his lack of interest in the past, but Molly was just as bad at minding his own business as Beau was, even if his social graces were better than hers. Caleb should have known better than to give him an opening.

Sam was shaking apart, steadying himself against the wall and gesturing wildly as he rambled about King Arthur and his knights, as if it was the most important thing in the world, and if anyone had asked Dean if he ever read to Sam when he was little he would have said hell no, that kid could read before he could walk, I never did that.

He and Claudio wordlessly established a mutual avoidance strategy back in november, when all the picnics and reconciliation dinners and apology parties forced them into proximity with each other, so that makes Hero the bigger concern. Her niceness makes her a wildcard, but he tries to convince himself that she’ll probably want to ignore him. He definitely wants to avoid her. Really, it’s the only reasonable thing to do. It’ll be fine.
John and Hero return to Messina for their final year and find themselves pulled back into each other's orbit.

What crazy luck it was, Richie reflected, to be in an equilibrium such as this one: not popular, exactly, but seen in certain quarters as being, in his intersecting homosexuality and rurality and hyperactivity, at least an interesting novelty; with time to hang out and to fuck around in Final Cut Pro; in love, and periodically catching the eye of the person he was in love with. He still spent a lot of time miserable, but his life was by any external metric less miserable than he’d ever had reason to hope it would be. None of it was likely to end any time soon.
