Summary
The centerpiece of the room is a massive fortune wheel. It sits on a black pedestal, the colorful segments each marked with different symbols of some kind. Akira moves closer to get a better look at them.
Out from behind the wheel walks a figure.
(There’s one last obstacle in Sae’s Palace, and when a world based on the principle of unwinnable games gets desperate, things get a little rough.)

Summary
“Indulge my curiosity,” he says brightly. “How did Ren convince you?”
“Huh?”
“You know Maruki’s dream world,” says Akechi. “I’ve always wondered. You got your mother back.”
Asshole. Jerk. Piece of shit. Why is Ren dating him. Why would anyone date him?
“And,” she grits out.
Akechi doesn’t let the question hang, he shoots it out of the air. “Why,” he says slowly, “would you agree to let that go?”
Sixteen minutes.
“I said we’re not gonna talk,” she says.
Akechi shrugs. “You started it,” he says, “but all right.”--
futaba and akechi discuss the pitfalls of wish fulfilment.

Summary
The infuriating thing, though, is that she just honestly can’t tell what Kurusu does think of her. Sometimes it feels like Kurusu only remembers she exists when Goromi’s right in front of her, even though everyone in the damn country thinks about her all the time. (Thinks about her, wants her, photoshops her face onto gravure idols, tries to follow her home when she doesn’t take a cab -- she wanted all this, but maybe she doesn’t anymore, maybe it’s getting a little old. Knowing that she’s secretly the scariest bitch in Tokyo isn’t nearly as reassuring as it used to be.)
In which Akechi attempts to keep her priorities straight.

Summary
“I’d hoped you'd come find me, too,” says Amamiya.
Perhaps he would have. It's only that in Akechi's version of events, there's nothing fuzzy at all about pulling the trigger and watching Amamiya's brains drip down the back wall.-
on november 20th, akechi goro kills the leader of the phantom thieves. on january 1st, dr maruki takuto brings him back.
(or: au where akechi's plan goes off without a hitch, and 2/2 goes a little differently.)

Summary
There’s a thrumming coming from somewhere — loud, deafeningly loud, but Ren is the only one who can hear it. It takes him a moment to realize that it’s him: his pulse, his heart, his own rising understanding that something is wrong. “Akechi,” he says, strangled and smiling, “this really doesn’t matter.”
But Akechi is already reeling back, already buttoning his shirt, already gone — again.
“Ren,” he mimics, eyes flashing, “it really does.”
Ren lets details of his first time slip. Akechi doesn't think it's as harmless as he does.

Goro Akechi is not addicted to caffeine, he is not addicted to nicotine, and he is certainly not addicted to Akira Kurusu. Well, that’s at least half true. A story told in six cigarettes.

Summary
Yoshizawa fires off a volley of bless attacks. The magic loses its form and splinters away, leaving Kurusu with little more than a tear in her tailcoat.
“Good,” Kurusu praises, and fires a bullet that clips Yoshizawa in the calf. “But you can’t assume your attacks will knock your assailant off-balance. Don’t let yourself get overconfident.”
Hidden in the shadows, Akechi rolls her eyes. That’s pretty fucking rich, coming from her.
Akechi is still owed a rematch. Kurusu, despite accepting her glove, has found a new and frivolous way to waste her time.

Summary
He might or might not have been repeating Dan’s name. Hard to say, really, it was muffled, and Herbert only scoffed in disdain when asked about it later on. Dan assumes it was supposed to serve as an answer, though it did not actually answer anything. Herbert is quite adamant about not needing Dan’s pity, except for the times when Dan’s pity turns out to be convenient.

Summary
PERCEPTION (SIGHT) [Challenging: Success] - That must be it, the bird, perched on the loose gutter of the tenement across the street and one down. It’s no bigger than your hand, with a black speckled body and a pointed yellow beak. Like a child’s drawing of a bird. The platonic ideal of birddom.
HAND-EYE COORDINATION [Medium: Success] - It isn’t the best angle, but from this distance you could still hit it through the eye.
LOGIC [Easy: Success] - Why the fuck would you do that?
Harrier Du Bois takes up birdwatching.

Summary
There’s a second on the doorstep before Martin is present enough to realise he has to take over here. A small oh escapes him and he starts patting down his pockets. Eventually he finds the keys, fumbling them in hands that he’s realising now are freezing. Freezing, how has Jon been holding them this long without flinching? Oh. That’s when he realises they’ve been holding hands and now they’re not and nearly drops the keys.

Summary
Months after the Prentiss attack, Martin Blackwood is having a bad day.
Relationships among his coworkers have fallen apart, their boss is stalking them, and no one can quite shake the feeling that danger is still close by. Martin's doing his best to hold everyone together, but tea and sympathy aren't working like they used to. The sole bright spot is that it's much easier to have a crush on Jon now that he's decided Martin isn't a murderer. Mostly, though, Martin's just glad to make it through the day...
...until he wakes up and has to live the same bad day all over again.
Martin finds himself caught in a loop, reliving the 19th November over and over again, struggling to understand why this is happening and what he has to do to get out. His dear coworker Sasha is acting very strange, spiders keep crawling over everything, and at the center of it all is a man with long, sharp hands, who might be to blame... or might be the key to escaping all of this.
(Or: Michael, Not-Sasha, and Annabelle have a three-sided tug-of-war over Martin's brain, while Martin hooks up with the guy who got him into this mess and keeps trying to Fifty-First-Dates his boss.)
