It takes Chuuya and Kyouka a few blinks to realize something before they turn to look at each other with slightly widened eyes. They look at the girls again. A girl with a red cape and hood, a girl with long black and purple hair with kinda pale skin, a girl with cat-like eyes and long black and white hair, and a girl with big, teal, white, and purple curls.
They know these girls well. They’ve watched the show too many damn times not to know. They face each other at the same time and whisper,“Ever After High…”
(Or, a fanfic where some ADA and Port Mafia members, including Fyodor and Nikolai get sucked into a whirlpool of colors during a joint hangout and they get transported into the dimension of EAH, with only Chuuya and Kyouka realizing where they were; since they’ve watched the show too many goddamn times together.)

Bernard sighed, setting the phone down and folding his arms. “Okay. Just spit it out.”
Tim sat first, placing the plate on the table with care. “Please don’t freak out—” he began.

Tim slapped a hand over Kon’s mouth, glaring at him.
Kon blinked, muffled.
They both turned to look at Bernard.
Bernard raised an eyebrow. Slowly. Unimpressed.
The silence stretched.
Kon fidgeted. Tim shifted. Neither of them spoke.
Bernard exhaled like the weight of the world had just settled on his shoulders. “So you’re telling me... that both of you are vigilantes-slash-heroes... and you’ve only just now decided to tell me?”
Tim opened his mouth.
Bernard held up a finger. “Nope. No. No speaking. I’m not done.”
Tim’s mouth closed.

Summary
I’m not going to go into the details of how he grew into himself, became more confident, found his own self among the rubble of his past. That’s all something that he did, and I could never take credit for it.
But it’s important to note that he did do it. Alongside my children, I got to watch Nico di Angelo grow up into the astounding person that he is. I’m honored that I got to take part in that journey, no matter how small or large it may be.
I was not surprised when he revealed himself to be a talent in the recording studio; I had known that since seeing him pick up one of my old guitars for the first time. Though slightly worried, I also wasn’t surprised when he made the decision to release his music.
And, of course, I was not surprised when I got to give Nico and Will both a lesson on dating etiquette (of which I really had no proper expertise in, and they both knew it), nor when I got to give them away at their wedding years later.
