Summary
Jack Frost and E. Aster Bunnymund haven’t been getting along recently. Ever since defeating Pitch seven months ago, things have gotten better between the two, but a few months is hardly enough time to get over forty years of dislike and distrust.
After the two screw up a battle due to their fighting, they find themselves waking up mortal in the Viking Ages. Jack and Bunny try to find a way to return to their own time, but higher powers and fate seem to have other plans for them. Bunny’s past begins to haunt him as he struggles with an abrupt transformation, and Jack, used to being invisible, finds himself gravitating towards this new life—especially to one brand new Chief of Berk, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III.In which Jack and Bunny are thrown back into the Viking Ages—Jack gets comfortable, Hiccup sucks at dealing with his own grief, and Bunny is forcibly sentenced to Viking Babysitting. After bullying Hiccup into letting him read the lyrics he’d written for the Hooligans’ new song, Jack already knew he didn’t like this ‘Moon’ person. He couldn’t tell exactly what it was— maybe the intense, obvious longing in the words, or the fact that Hiccup seemed positive it was one-sided— but seeing the Howling Hooligans perform it live, with Hiccup taking the lead vocals? When he rarely ever sings? Yeah. Jack is positive he hates ‘Moon’.
Does it have anything to do with Jack being worried that if Hiccup were to start dating this person, he would spend less time with Jack?
Jack isn’t thinking about that right now. Really, he should be happy for his best friend that he found someone he is so clearly head over heels for. But something about it leaves Jack with a sick, oily feeling in the back of his throat. Instead of unpacking THAT like he probably should with Sandy, he finds a song to cover whose lyrics are exactly what he’s looking for.
Suck it, Moon. He's determined to be all Hiccup thinks about. In a totally platonic, best-friend way. Nothing to look too deeply into. Yeah.

It would make sense, staying true with his song. Melody was a part of a siren's entire life, they could hear a person's heart from their song. His song was like a shield, it formed something strong, and almost golden. His heart sang to protect his crew, shining like rays of light in the darkness. It was the most noble song of all.
And still, he refused to kill him, a siren that threatened his life. He’d never come across a human like him before. So, when he sees a fire strike his ship, he knows what he has to do. A life for a life.
