Summary
He can imagine the sight clear as day: patrol agents have the car surrounded. Sniffer dogs are snarling and chomping at him. Mickey’s loaded gun is in the glove compartment. Neither of them reach for it. But someone pulls a trigger, and there’s no glass to separate Ian from the blood this time.
In reality, Ian’s not in the car. The gate lifts, and Mickey passes over.
Losing Mickey is a practiced ritual at this point, as is losing Monica, but Ian doesn’t know how to wrap his mind around losing both forever at the same time. Mickey to “heaven,” Monica to Heaven.
Ian hopes they’re both in heaven, at least.

Summary
A relationship with an expiration date is like a set of eggs, cracking and stewing towards failure. But there’s something in the wait, in the anticipation that is surprisingly calm. In the space where Jaehyun would typically hold back, he feels no need to make his personality palatable — here he is honest with Doyoung in a way he isn’t with anyone else. They’re able to level with each other because there’s none of that expectation with Doyoung. Doyoung, who knows that Jaehyun and him were always meant to be nothing. Where do you grow from a decided rock bottom?

Summary
It's fitting that he realises he loves Hanbin while he's watching him tear out another tribute's throat with his teeth. He had expected that it would be earth-shattering, maybe, something similar to the depictions in the romance novels he used to read. But Zhang Hao only traces Hanbin's form on the screen, his staunch refusal to cede victory, and thinks oh, I love him.
If only Zhang Hao knew winning the Games would be the easy part.

There is a particularly memorable Saturday when Euijoo walks into the room and sees Nicholas texting on his phone and wearing a plaid skirt, his legs bare underneath.
“Um,” Euijoo says, trying not to swallow his tongue. “Are you going out?”
“Oh,” Nicholas says. He runs a hand through his hair. “No. I’m just really behind on laundry, actually.”
Oh, so Nicholas is wearing that to do laundry. That’s… cool. Euijoo doesn’t have an opinion on this at all, mostly because his brain is lagging like it’s on one bar of wifi. He wants to say that Nicholas looks nice, but instead just gives him a thumbs up. Euijoo quietly gets his laptop out of his backpack and considers dropping out of school.
[In freshman year of university, Euijoo and Nicholas are assigned to be roommates.]

Summary
It’s easy, in the end. Sung Hanbin is easy. He flushes at the slightest compliment; he snags into Zhang Hao’s orbit like multiple boys have before him and spins there, starry-eyed. The problem is that Zhang Hao likes him. He is kind and funny and smart and cute, cute, cute and so easy to talk to it’s kind of alarming. They have the exact same taste in food, in media, even in cute room decorations. Zhang Hao regrets wasting three years not knowing him.
Zhang Hao thinks he might be in trouble.
Or: Zhang Hao has never done anything halfway, why should falling in love be any different?
