Summary
Jack had just stepped back onto the main floor when he clocked movement at the ambulance entrance, two guys hurrying in, the smaller one helping a guy with a sweatshirt covered in blood. But something was wrong, some unnamable instinct rising within Jack at the way they moved. It was too fluid, too controlled. Jack knew what the walking wounded looked like, had seen it for years, from war zones to bar fights. This wasn't the injured seeking help; this was men hunting.
Time slowed, Jack's heart rate spiking, the adrenaline dump casting everything in sharp relief—the full ED floor, patients plus shift change meaning twice the usual personnel were here.
Robby was here.
That thought got him moving, Jack approaching laterally. He got there right as the guns came out.

"Dios mio," Eddie hisses under his breath. He looks more stressed than before. Buck reads the messages again and again until they start to make some sense.
"This is about a date," Buck says slowly. "Chris said you wanted to start dating." He can't even look at Eddie. He feels like his heart is beating too loudly in his chest. "You're… going on a date?"
Or: Eddie tries to start dating again. Chris intervenes and Buck temporarily loses his mind.

Buck doesn’t take his hands off Eddie’s shoulders as he glances over to Athena and Nash, who are watching the display calibrate. “How’d we do?”
“See for yourself,” Athena says.
Bad, Eddie thinks.
But he can’t read her – doesn’t know what it’s going to say. For all he knows, he’s going to look up and the words Eddie Diaz Should Be Dead will be flashing across the screen. He half-expects it.
He wants to brace Buck for it, for the disappointment – wants to explain that whatever has screwed his compatibility scores till now, this one is all on Eddie.
“Oh, shit…” Buck whispers.
Eddie lifts his head, finally lets himself look, and then takes an inhale so sharp he tastes blood.

“It’s not spying if you invite me in,” Loki replies, sounding mildly affronted.
“Now see… What's that supposed to mean?” he ponders. “Are you like a vampire now?”
Loki narrows his eyes. “Mobius. Please don’t spoil the moment.”
God, he’s missed those elegant vowels gently telling him off.
Loki visits Mobius in a dream (or is it?). Things get a little heated...

Loki grins broadly, white teeth gleaming. “I wasn’t aware the CIA took a special interest in art theft.”
“They don’t.”
“So you’re here because…?”
Mobius coughs. “This is, ah, a personal project.”
“Is that so?” Loki says, looking entirely too delighted. His smile gets even wider, and much more predatory. “Why, I’m flattered, Agent Mobius.”
“Don’t be,” Mobius warns, doing his best to glare at the other man. He knows it’s futile; Loki can’t help but be flattered. It’s in his nature. “One day I’m going to catch you.”
(Mobius just wants to bring down the notorious and prolific art thief he's been studying for years. He certainly doesn't expect said thief to be so handsome, or charming, or... helpful?)

It’s fire that has given Buck so much over the years: his confidence in his own worth when he’s been saving people from it, a family which has embraced him as they fought it shoulder to shoulder, a place in the world where he belonged.
And it is fire that is about to take it all away from him as he opens the warehouse door only to be faced by a ball of it leaping out at him, a second before he realizes that he’s being pushed back by a blast, thrown through the air like he weighs nothing.
And then he hits the ground and there is nothing.
