Arthur finds out Merlin has magic. He also finds out how often Merlin risked his life for him and so, he does the only thing he can think of to protect him: banishment.
Hurt and angry, Merlin leaves and swears to not look back.
But, when two years pass and Morgana shows up at Merlin’s door, urging him to fill Gaius’ position as Court Physician, Merlin agrees. He really doesn’t know why, but Arthur is sure Merlin would do just about anything to get on his nerves.
Unprepared for the shock of seeing Merlin back in the castle, Arthur is forced to speed along his plans to lift the ban on magic. But between stubborn councilors, a mysterious plague, a still angry Merlin, and Morgana being Morgana, Arthur is fairly certain he’ll lose his mind before the first year of his reign even ends.

No young man, no matter how great, or mystic can know his destiny. He cannot glimpse his part in the great story that is about to unfold. Like everyone, he must live and learn. And so, it will be for the young magic arriving at the gates of Camelot. A boy that will, in time, father the legend. His name: Merlin.
Or
A rewrite of Merlin if the writers weren’t cowards. A lot gayer, magic users aren’t the enemy in every single episode, and Uther is the actual villain of the story. Morgana is still a villain, but we have sympathy for her.

Summary
Magic is slowly seeping out of the Earth and it is finding sanctuary in Merlin. Day by day, his already powerful magic gradually strengthens. However, when will the power be too much to bear?
Arthur, annoyed, follows Merlin through a forest to see him preforming magic. An entire friendship (or more) crumbles within him. Was it all a lie?
TLDR: Merlin is not careful enough when visiting a druid camp VS Arthur finally decides to follow Merlin on his little escapades and learns more about his manservant than he would have liked.
