'Arthur had taken off a week ago now and Sadie was starting to worry. He'd been gone for longer periods, but usually he mentioned it to someone if it was going to be more than a week. She checked with Charles, but Arthur had said nothing to him, and the same was true for Hosea and Dutch. Dutch waved her off, confident that Arthur would be back any day now, but she wasn’t convinced. Hosea wasn't either.'
OR, Arthur's been gone for too long and Sadie, Hosea and Charles try and track him down.

'“What’s a vacation?” Ed asks, and the crew groans. Stede’s face lights up but before he can answer, Buttons appears in between them.
“’Tis a curse, Cap’n,” he announces, eyes vacant as he stares into the distance. “A man on vacation is a poor fella indeed, a sure sign that Poseidon no longer holds him in his favour.”
Stede frowns. “That’s not–”
“E’s right,” Frenchie says, “Last time, the ship was run aground.”
“That was just bad luck-”
“We did get captured by some natives,” Oluwande adds.
“And Jim’s nose came off,” says the Swede.'Starting to feel like he's not a very fun or exciting co-captain, an opportunity presents itself to Stede when he organises another vacation. Everyone is going to have an excellent day. Perhaps they are cursed though - or more likely Stede is - because his day rapidly goes downhill from the moment he wakes up with the beginnings of a migraine.

His limbs are heavy. The pressure on his chest is heavier.
