Summary
“Do not mistake me for a sentimental fool who will claim that losing to you is the same as winning. It is not.”
Jude swallowed. Right. A match was still a match. One of them would always lose. England’s triumph had been Norway’s defeat. Jude had known that before he scored.
“But,” Haaland continued, “losing to you is not the same as losing to anyone else either.”
Jude’s breath caught.

Summary
Erling throws his head back, laughing. “Alt er tillatt i kjærlighet og krig, min venn!" (All is fair in love and war, my friend!)
Jude sort of misses when his bangs would flop back and forth with his head movements; now his hair is long enough to slick back and tie into a bun.
It's more practical now (he can't imagine playing with his hair flinging around in his face, god knows how Erling did it for years on end,) but still—
Jude's feelings aren't exactly practical, are they?
Or: Five times Jude kept his heart tucked away, and the one time he let it be held.

Summary
His hand slips out from under the pillow to touch Erling's face and pinch his cheek, red blooming afterwards. It makes the other groan and try to move his face away while Jude just giggles at him which sort of sums up their relationship.
Or: Jude and Erling in the aftermath of the match.

Summary
The fountain murmurs, and the breeze blows. It’s cool against the rush of heat that hits Jude’s face at the sight of his old teammate standing before him this late at night.
“Why are you here?” Jude blurts out, because he can’t yet say any of the other things racing through his mind.
Erling seems amused by his question. His lips quirk up into a smirk. Jude forces his mind away from the memories of being eighteen and wanting something more than what he had.
“I wanted to find you.”
After the England vs. Norway game, Jude takes a walk by the river to try to clear his mind. He doesn't get much time alone.
