Summary
Gally and Minho never bothered with the whole soulmate hype. As if anyone really felt tingling or zapping feelings when they touched another person. They were convinced it was a scam.

Summary
Gally finds Thomas first. He always has. Whether it was to pull him out of the box, throw him from the walls of the maze, punch him in the face, or save him from getting shot by guards, he was always the first to arrive.
This time’s no different.
Thomas is collapsed in a pool of his own blood. He hasn’t moved in too long, too wounded, blood oozing out of him slowly and sinking into the forest floor. His body is mostly numb from the sweat that’s cooled over, but the pain in his leg is a fire.
He may never run again. May never walk. And he doesn't know what he's going to do.

A terrible accident has Thomas too injured to move and bleeding out all alone in the forest of Safe Haven.
Then Gally finds him, as he always does, and tries to put him back together.

Summary
"It's another few miles north, Newt," He said. He had this way of talking around the messages he was trying to send about Newt's injury. Never an "I've got you, hold steady, we'll be there soon;" always alike to whatever he'd said now. Newt was normally more fond of this, but now it just feels patronizing. He doesn't want to take a break and make Thomas think he's out of commission, so he's inspired to hold it and keep forward. It's just another few miles, right? That's, what, 45 minutes at the pace they were walking. Surely he could hold out for that long.

Thomas knows what to do to keep Gally watching. Cup his mouth a little differently when he jugs a gulp from his bottle. Leave his lips on there a little longer. Dance, out on the empty floor, when he can pretend he’s too drunk to care.
He never is though. He’s never drunk enough to not care about Gally’s eyes watching him. About that hungry shade they get in them.
And he is never not waiting for Gally to grab him.
