“won’t you at least have a little tea first?” jake pouts, holding out a steaming cup with feigned innocence.
heeseung frowns. “let me guess. aphrodisiacs?”
the omega sits back on his heels with a huff. “you’re no fun.”
“i think we have different definitions of fun,” he points out, arms crossed. “can we start now?”
(alternatively: to save his dying friend, pirate captain lee heeseung must outwit a dangerously cunning omega.)

Summary
"It's an amputee foundation. They’re for people who were forced to lose their legs from untreated diabetes," Heeseung says, tone going soft in sympathy, and Sunghoon wants to gag. No disrespect to diabetic people, no, but Heeseung sounded so much like a saint Sunghoon thinks he might vomit.
And when he glances at Jake, he no longer wants to vomit, but is compelled to throw a tantrum and wallow in his own tears. Jake looks at Heeseung wide-eyed with adoration, pupils sparkling, mouth hanging open.
Someone shoot me, he thinks.
(or: There's Jake, and there's Sunghoon—best friends, attached at the hip, each other's ride or die, partners in crime. It's been the two of them for the longest time, so things get complicated when Heeseung is added to the equation.)

Summary
“Do you want to go home with me tonight?”
The words hung in the air, suffocating, heavy, and not really a question at all.
Jake’s heart pounded in his chest, his nerves fraying with every second of silence that followed. He forced himself to stay calm, to mask the fear and dissociate from the traitorous excitement creeping up his spine, thorny and wrong. Heeseung’s touch was gentle, almost comforting, loving, but Jake knew better.
Still, he nodded, once, his voice a barely audible exhale. “Yeah.” His head spun as he averted his eyes. “Yes, hyung.”
---
Detective job was okay, Jake just wished Heeseung was a little less heartless and Ni-ki a little more selfish.

Summary
“You have this— this specific look on your face whenever Heeseung hyung appears. Your mood suddenly turns all sour and you always have a frown on your face like hyung just ruined your day.”
Jaeyun snorts at this. It’s not that he’s even trying to hide it in the first place. He despises Heeseung with every fiber of his being, and he intends to let the whole world know about it.
Too bad, though, because Lee Heeseung is awfully dense as fuck, unable to notice the hatred that Jaeyun has for him.

Summary
“I’ll be blunt,” Jake says, pausing to give the other time to nod in acceptance. “You should just forget about me.”
Okay. Not really what Riki thought his soulmate would say upon discovering him.
(Riki finds his soulmate one year earlier than most people do. That would be something to brag about, if only the guy wanted him.)

Summary
Jaeyun tilts his head a bit, looking suddenly almost puppy-like, cute and wide-eyed and innocent, and – this is bad. Very bad. Heeseung should probably retreat and start pushing his truck out of their driveway and continue on until he reaches the next state over, no matter how long it takes or how it will inevitably lead to him collapsing from exhaustion twenty minutes in.
At least he’d be somewhere that Jaeyun is not, and he’d surely be better off for it.
“I asked if you’re a new volunteer,” Jaeyun repeats, and even his voice is pretty, his accent strong and thick, with a slight lisp that Heeseung manages to find simultaneously endearing and enticing. “For the church?”
Or, when Heeseung’s truck breaks down outside of a pastor’s house in the midst of a cross-country road trip that was supposed to give him a fresh start, he meets Jake, who’s in desperate need of a ride to a fresh start of his own. It’s a match made in – well, not in heaven. But something close to it.

Summary
“Sim Jaeyun, you are to join in hand and heart with one Lee Heeseung on the first day of July, to align families and lands for generations to come,” his father reads from the paper, and Jake’s heart feels like it’s rising in his throat, feels like it’s going to burst out of his mouth and splatter over his mother’s pristine emerald shoes. He swallows so hard that it hurts.
“Who?” he asks.
Or: Never-been-touched Jake has dreamt of his marriage since before he could walk, but Heeseung is someone beyond even all of his wildest imaginings.
Updates every Wednesday.

Summary
“What’s wrong?” He stalks over with a disarming smile. Jake doesn’t know if it’s on purpose but his sharp fangs flash the moment he asks, “Do I scare you?”
Sunghoon really is a vampire. Jake doesn’t know why he thought that quiet and ominous Sunghoon with his snow white skin and deathly cold hands could be anything but a vampire.
(Or: Jake has vampire trauma, and Sunghoon isn't the most accommodating—but maybe it's for the best.)

Summary
It is his turn this time. Jake could taste it on the wind, hear it in the birdsong, and feel it on the meadow grass that he sits on. It's his turn to face the forest's deity and confront his village's history, all in the name of a prosperous harvest.
What occurs deep in that early-spring forest changes the fate of generations.
