Summary
In Ketterdam, marriages are just another contract, albeit a bit more permanent. They were a good way to make alliances, even between people who wouldn’t ordinarily be seen together. Which is how Wylan Van Eck ends up being married off to Jesper Fahey, in order to solidify the connections between Kaz Brekker’s Dregs and Jan Van Eck’s mercher empire. The only problem? Namely: a lot of banter—most of which involves a lot of stinging and acerbic one-liners that are just waiting to be immortalized by the internet, enough hijinks to send any authority figure running, and a whole lot of waffles.
