    Kaz nodded, the embarrassment creeping back. Snake’s hand was gentle on his face. He could hear the light rasp of his stubble under the man’s fingers.

    Snake drew back and gestured to the washstand. “It’s been a while since I shaved,” he mumbled, “but I think I can still handle it.”

    After their little spat at the sauna, Kaz had done his absolute best to be better. He hadn’t slept around, hadn’t so much as looked at a woman in anything but a professional manner, and it was working! He was being good, doing as he was told. His output had increased, the constant flow of memos and approvals keeping him as busy as he could get. Snake would be proud if he ever seemed to notice anything that wasn’t right under his goddamn nose.
